Freelance Job Description
We are looking for a Freelance QA Proofreader, this role is a hybrid of Quality Assurance (QA) testing and Proofreading. The candidate should demonstrate a track record in both areas. You'll need to be a highly motivated, reliable, detail orientated and driven individual who is passionate about producing high-quality work. You must thrive in a fast-paced environment and be ambitious enough to participate in building a high-profile end-product.
Responsibilities
QA Testing:
- Becoming involved early and throughout the project life cycle
- Provide early and constant feedback on what you see in terms of the solution being vs. the vision of the requirement owners
- Fully understand requirements and work with the requirement owners to determine the vision and boundaries of the solution
- Define the broad test strategy and the pre-requisites for the besting approach to be adopted
- Run tests and note defects e.g. actual vs. expected behaviour and report defects and issues on JIRA
- Identify steps to reproduce a reported issue
- Accept functionality as complete, or reject for rework
- Participate in daily meetings: providing updates and identifying progress blockers
- As needed, assist in performance testing
Proofreading:
- Proofread for sense, consistency, spelling, punctuation, format, spacing, capitalisation and font usage in both English and Chinese.
- Inspect other elements of content such as logos, images and colours in accordance with requirements
Job Requirement
Qualifications, experience and skills we are looking for
- 3+ years agency or client-side experience within marketing and communications
- Experience in writing test plans and test scripts is ideal
- Technically literate and have knowledge of how websites work
- Excellent English and Chinese writing and proofreading skills are essential
- Must be able to work effectively under pressure, within strict time constraints
