Job Description
The Capital Market Associate will acquire working experience in the regional Capital Markets business. His / her primary role will be assisting Team Heads and senior team members in originating, structuring and executing debt transactions (comprising loans and / or bonds ) for OCBC. Responsibilities - Fundamental and credit and financial analysis on Corporates and Financial Institutions, modelling of corporate balance sheets and cashflows related to debt financing solutions - Supporting Team Leaders in the origination of debt solutions for clients through information sourcing / sorting and analysis and preparation of pitch books and marketing materials, and ancillary duties - Assist with the execution process of mandated deals which includes obtaining internal approvals, managing deal documentation, coordinating and organizing roadshows, and liaising with both internal stakeholders and external transaction parties (legal counsel / professional service providers) - Collating and preparing information for department weekly reports, as well as helping the CM team with ad-hoc assignments related to the Capital Markets business - Assist with organizing business networking activities including client events and inter-department / group engagements - Exhibit flexibility, adaptability, resilience, care and self-initiative to work in a dynamic environment, which requires handling multiple projects / deadlines simultaneously
Job Requirement
- University Degree or above in Accountancy, Finance or relevant business discipline - Internship experience in an institutional environment (preferably in banking / finance) will be an advantage - Strong Excel and financial modelling skills, including high degree of PowerPoint competency - Good written and oral communication ability, with strong interaction and people skills - Meticulous and analytical thinker with good numerical skills - Demonstrate good interest and knowledge of finance and markets and understanding of corporate capital structure - A fast learner and able to work independently as well as being a team player - Capital Markets and Financial Advisory Services (CMFAS) certification, administered by the Institute of Banking and Finance (IBF) - this will be part of the work requirement upon successful hire
