Freelance Job Description
Collect blood from patients or subjects through venipuncture in different settings. Location will vary on a job-by-job basis depending on customer requirements, but hourly rate will factor in travel time and costs. Some examples could include clinics (locum arrangement), home blood draws, research study support, or mobile health screening events.
This opportunity would be idea for healthcare workers with prior blood taking experience in a high volume setting (e.g., hospital laboratory or health screening clinic), who now seek a flexible work schedule with partial income while keeping vocational skills well-practised and current. The candidate must have good availability on most weekday mornings, which is when most of the jobs would be scheduled.
The availability of jobs may vary depending on customer demand, and hence candidates need to be comfortable with variable monthly income.

Job Requirement
The candidate needs to be highly proficient in blood taking, capable of successful draws even from patients with hard-to-locate veins, and also high volume settings with up to 60 patients per hour. Additional responsibilities may also include height and weight measurement, taking blood pressure, as well as dispatch of collected samples to the diagnostic laboratory.
As the jobs will often be offsite, the candidate must be able to perform the duties independently. In addition, the candidate must have a strong sense of professionalism and responsibility, and be counted upon to fulfill a job once accepting it, or if unavailable to due to unforeseen circumstances, provide notice as early as possible.
