Freelance Job Description
We are looking for a Freelance Front-end Developer, this role will be responsible for implementing sophisticated, interactive, portable and accessible web solutions. You'll work with our designers and developers in designing and hand-coding bespoke front-end interfaces. You'll need to be a highly motivated, reliable, detail orientated and driven individual who is passionate about producing high-quality work. You must thrive in a fast-paced environment and be ambitious enough to participate in building a high-profile end-product.
Responsibilities
- Development of front-end projects according to the approved specification and pre-determined standards (HTML, CCS, JavaScipt, WCAG, etc.)
- Ensure the quality of the project, ensuring that all risk management process is implemented, appropriate software engineering principals are applied during development
- Develop and apply appropriate testing procedures to ensure that website performs correctly and meets cross-browser requirements
- Work with QA and Project Lead towards an iterative solution for the client - Participate in daily meetings: providing updates and identifying progress blockers
Job Requirement
Qualifications, experience and skills we are looking for
- 3+ years of commercial experience of the following is required (expert knowledge):
- HTML5, CSS and LESS/SCSS and standard Web API's (e.g. the Document Object Model);
- JavaScript, AJAX, JavaScript UI component frameworks (e.g. jQuery UI);
- Implementation of responsive design / mobile front-end development; and
- Image manipulation through either Photoshop, Adobe XD or GIMP.
- 2+ years of commercial experience of the following is required:
- Website testing experience with cross-browser compatibility
- Knowledge of accessibility best practices, including W3C WCAG 2.1
- Web security vulnerabilities and best practices (e.g. validation, escaping and encoding)
- Good understanding of different image types and when to use them (e.g. JPEG and PNG)
