Freelance Job Description

Fancy earning extra income in a fun way? What about learning more about brands and products as you get PAID to shop?

Join us as a mystery evaluator today!

Founded in 1987, BARE is the global leader in customer experience research, and mystery shopping is one of our core research tools. As an evaluator with us, you assist our clients in seeing their business through the customers’ eyes.

What is Mystery Shopping?

Mystery shopping requires a shopper to interact with a company under the guise of being a prospective customer. The shopper then observes the interaction and assesses performance based on specific pre-defined criteria that the business is trying to measure.

This criteria can involve customer service and selling skills, how well employees are adopting specific behaviours, whether certain practices are followed and much more.

Typical Tasks for Mystery Shoppers

Each scenario can be slightly different depending on client but Mystery Shopping tasks typically involve:

  • Buying products, gifts or other items in stores or online

  • Asking questions to customer service staff

  • Giving feedback on how well treated you were as a customer
